Dr N Bhaskara Rao, Chairman CMS (Honorary
Dr. N Bhaskara RaoA pioneer of social research in
India and an eminent mass communication expert with
40 years of distinguished background, Dr N Bhaskara
Rao is founder Chairman of well known and prestigious
independent Centre for Media Studies (CMS). He is
also founder chairman of prestigious market research
and forecasting outfit, Marketing & Development Research
Associates (MDRA) and BREAD. Earlier, he had built
up ORG as its CEO. Dr Rao is the author and proponent
of Social Audit concept/approach to appraise public
utilities/services along with two former chief justices
of India. Dr Rao pioneered Role Model Awards at National
level. He pioneered psephology based election studies
in India, 30 years ago.
Dr Rao could easily be credited for giving birth to
Applied Social Science Research in India with his
innumerable research studies of significance on a
variety of subjects. He is credited for large-scale
sample surveys in India. Dr Rao had high academic
achievements having three masters degrees and a Ph.D
from two Indian and two US Universities.
Dr Bhaskara Rao is an acknowledged expert in public
opinion, feedback and market research methodologies.
Dr Rao made a mark on futures studies in India starting
in 1975 with "India 2001", India 2020 in 1986 and
he was the Coordinator of Vision 2020 Andhra Pradesh.
His books/monographs/writings over three decades had
profound impact on policies, programmes and perspectives
of more than a couple of sectors. Dr Rao has done
extensive research in India on television effects,
including on children and was responsible for benchmark
studies on media and television policies.
Dr. Rao held senior advisory positions with the Government
and international agencies. He is founder-Director
of more than a couple of research agencies.
Ms Annu Anand, Honorary Advisor
Annu is a senior development journalist with over 25 years of experiences and has worked in newspapers, magazines and new agencies in different capacities. The last stint she had with Press Institute of India(PII) as Editor of Grassroots, a monthly journal devoted to development issues, and Vidura -India's leading Media Journal.
Her more than 1000 articles published on development and social issues, women's, child right, education, environment and grassroots governance issues in national and regional newspapers.She is also a leading journalism trainer, communicator and educator. She has conducted several training programmes for Indian and South Asian journalists; and had attended 'Train the Trainer' programs at the University of Manila.

Anand A Jha, currently in position as the Senior Manager, CMS VATAVARAN, New Delhi and Co-ordinator of CMS ENVIS Centre, a project of Ministry of Environment & Forest, Govt. of India. He is Post Graduate in Library & Information Science, with specialization in Information Research. With a decade of experience in publishing newsletters, publications and journals for various organisations. With his passion and interest in developmental issues, he is also plays an important role in content generation and management of the extensive database in CMS-ENVIS Website. He is a regular contributor of articles in his professional field and areas of interest in Journals, conference proceedings and publications. He is well known as a efficient organiser of seminars, conferences and workshops on professional skills development.
Dipendra B Mishra, Programme officer
Mr. Dipendra Mishra holds a Masters degree in Computer
Applications(MCA) and has more than 9 years of experience
in website designing, remote
server management and network management. He leads
the IT and Systems team at CMS and his job profile
includes managing websites, remote servers and softwares.
In addition, he is an expert in hardware troubleshooting,
database backup, archiving, content filtering, mail
server management, and disaster & recovery tools.
Ms Ritika Kapoor, Programme Officer
She completed her masters in Environmental Sciences from Fergusson College, Pune and has done her Post Graduate Diploma in Environmental Law from National Law School of India University, Bangalore. She has about 2 years of work experience in research, writing and outreach on Climate Change issues ranging from its effect on ocean-atmosphere interactions to adaptation through the living cultural traditions of India.
Preeti Kashyap, Information Officer
Preeti holds Post Graduate degree in Mass Communication
and Journalism from Punjab Tachnical University and
Graduated from University of Delhi. At present she
is working as Information officer at CMS ENVIS Centre.
Mr. Vijay Singh, Information Officer
Vijay Singh is Librarian & Manager of Knowledge Management-CMS (Centre for Media Studies), New Delhi. He specializes in information processing, organizing, and analysis; database management. His recent area of work is in Knowledge Management through KOHA (Library Management Software). He published several research papers and book chapters. He has also organized, participated and presented papers in several national and international conferences and workshops.
